Summary:
The Senior Systems Engineer participates in project plans, schedules, and methodology in the operation and maintenance of multiple system environments. This position responds to system management alerts to handle system/operations exceptions, within the assigned enterprise systems of product offerings. This position also supports triage and change management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure infrastructure to support project needs.
  • Diagnose system problems using dumps, traces, or other diagnostics aids.Develop and maintain runbooks, modules, and other documentation used by various teams to ensure operational success.
  • Recommend and change system parameters or configuration variables to improve overall system performance.
  • Work closely with other IT groups to deliver solutions to client.
  • Script and automate processes where needed using a variety of tools and languages.
  • Assist in daily support of the systems/products assigned, through early detection and pursuit or changes in system responses or operation.
  • Document, manage and implementation of changes and service requests.
  • Creation, execution, documentation, and closure of tasks, changes, and requests.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Five plus years of experience in a systems engineering role.
  • Understanding of systems, storage, applications, networking components and how they combine to provide optimal solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Windows servers, DNS/DHCP and Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Terraform, etc.).
  • Knowledge of virtual environments (Hyper-V preferred) and Azure cloud solutions.
