Summary:
The IT Sourcing Specialist will support the Vendor Management Office (VMO) in optimizing sourcing activities, review, and negotiation of contract terms, and conducting market research and comparative analysis to assist in decision-making. This role is crucial for ensuring cost-effective acquisition of technology resources and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
· IT Sourcing Support:
- Assist in developing and executing sourcing activities for IT hardware, software, telecom/WAN and professional services spending, including support for the RFx Sourcing Process.
- Help conduct market analysis and vendor evaluations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support in managing supplier relationships, including helping with contract negotiations and performance evaluations.
- Partner with IT, finance and stakeholders to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies and contract compliance.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Help assess and manage risks associated with vendor selection and contract terms including reviewing and redlining of agreements.
- Facilitate end-to-end contracting process utilizing our Contract Lifecycle Management tool, ensuring data accuracy and process compliance.
- Assist in implementing controls to protect sensitive information throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Produce audits of savings captured by the VMO
· Data Analytics:
- Gather and analyze large data-sets related to IT sourcing activities, such as spending + revenue patterns, benchmarking and vendor performance.
- Assist in creating reports and dashboards to provide insights into key performance metrics.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Excel models, dashboards, and reporting tools for IT procurement and vendor management.
- General – cross functional collaboration with other areas of the business that the VMO works closely with including Deals Desk, Finance, Tech Services, Delivery Services, Architecture, Enterprise Tooling, & Information Security
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- Strong analytical skills with advanced understanding of data analysis tools and techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA/macros, complex formulas and functions, data visualization - dynamic dashboards, conditional formatting, and real-world applications).
- Familiarity with IT procurement best practices and vendor management principles.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Proactive and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience in IT procurement or a related field. Internships or academic projects in Supply Chain Management, Finance, and Accounting are valuable.
Education / Certifications:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Technology, military equivalent or a related field.
- Preferred: Relevant coursework or certifications in procurement, supply chain management, or data analysis.
