Senior Accountant
Summary:
We are a newly formed, large PE backed recurring revenue business with ~5,000 employees that is highly acquisitive.
We are seeking a Senior Accountant / Staff Accountant with a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
This role is critical to building a best-in-class accounting function, supporting accurate financial reporting, month-end close, audits, and ensuring disciplined financial controls across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience, strong technical GAAP knowledge, and an ownership mentality.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & General Accounting
Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across multiple entities.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
Maintain prepaid, accrual, fixed asset, and other core accounting schedules.
Financial Reporting
Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and internal reporting packages.
Support variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and historical performance.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Technical Accounting & Controls
Support the creation and documentation of accounting policies and internal controls.
Assist with purchase accounting, revenue recognition, and complex accounting areas.
Review and enhance processes to ensure accuracy, scalability, and audit readiness.
Audit Support
Coordinate external audits, including preparation of PBCs and supporting documentation.
Respond to auditor inquiries and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables.
M&A, Integrations, and Special Projects
Support integration of newly acquired entities into the core accounting framework.
Assist with onboarding systems, chart of accounts, and accounting processes.
Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving efficiency and reporting quality.
Process & Systems Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting workflows.
Contribute to ERP enhancements or implementations (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Improve accuracy, cycle time, and data visibility across the finance function.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2–5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting strongly preferred).
Strong knowledge of GAAP and foundational accounting principles.
Experience with multi-entity environments, consolidations, or large-volume reconciliations.
High proficiency in Excel; experience with modern ERP systems preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to prioritize and operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred
Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience.
CPA or progress toward CPA.
Experience in private equity–backed or high-growth organizations.
Exposure to acquisition accounting, carve-outs, or integrations.
Experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
